i have had the privilege of getting to know the most pleasant character. his name is alex and i cut his hair. well i did cut his hair. i almost cried the last time he left my salon because yes i would miss him and yes he was such an adorable little guy who i have really come to love.

everyone should love this little guy because he has bright red hair. he currently is sporting the most adorable shag with curls to complete the look. instead of laughing he has this incredibly high pitched scream giggle.

but more importantly this little guy knows how to live. he is suffering from a chronic condition of lukemia that for the most part causes him so much pain. luckily i have only known him with hair and the energy to scream, but knowing that usually he spends his days and weeks and months in hospital beds is such an eye opener on what is important in life.

from him i have learned that a little childs scream is the best sound when it is filled with the most incredible love and desire for whatever it is you are doing.

i have learned that when i am having a good day i need to really have a good day. there are too many wasted opportunities.

i have learned that my parents are and will forever more be some of the most important people in my life, and that they love me with the most sincere love.

i have learned that a simple smile can brighten anyones day.

i have learned that red hair is and will forever more mean mischief

i have learned how hard it is to say goodbye for forever

but mostly have learned that regardless of the situation or the circumstance there is always going to be a light at the end of the tunnel. even if its heaven.

so this one is for little alex and all the other kids out there who have a much harder life than i do but know so much more about living.

he who has a why to live can bear almost any how. -author unknown

jack my love

one year ago this very day the love of my life came to town.

our dreams are made of real things, like a shoebox full of photographs.

slow down everyone, you're moving too fast.

there were so many fewer questions when stars were still just the holes to heaven...

it's as simple as something that nobody knows.

there is no combination of words i could put on the back of a postcard

if it seems like you are playing around and not practicing, that's when you know you really love it. -Jack Johnson

the grassy movie

friday night me and the lovely alli decided that it was too nice of a night to not spend it outside. so out we went. we set up a blanket and the newly purchased laptop and threw our blankets and pillows and made a harry potter oasis on the grass under the gorgeous stars. (did anyone else notice how bright they all were that night?)
it was such a delightful time. the perfect summer night enjoyed thoroughly by two summer loving gals.
